Death wraps me in its warm embrace
I know I'm going to die

I fought for my country, my beliefs
I'm proud of what I have done

I hope to be remembered for my deeds
I hope my family forgives me

I'm sorry to put them through this pain but it must be done...

My friends are dead but I shall see them again
May their souls rest in peace till we meet again

I hear the commander yelling at me
Not sure of what he is saying

My eye lids grow heavy, everything goes black
I open my eyes again staring at the blinding whiteness

"Where am I?" a door opens to my right
"Oh your awake!" the nurse runs out returning with a doctor

My family rushes in, fretting and hugging me
Darkness takes me back again

I'm home again but I'm filled with sadness
why would they do this? I was ready to die

Good bye for now. It's time to leave
